I had to run to the local drug store last night to get my son (who decided last minute that he did want to do Valentines) a pack of cards for his classmates. Not surprising in the least, the card aisle was full of men and the Valentines displays were pretty picked over. Luckily there was still some Spiderman Valentines cards left.
I want to give you an idea of our weather this week:
Monday: -36C with wind chill (this hurts the face)
Tuesday: Almost out of washer fluid? Great! It's +6C making a slushy melty mess
Wednesday: Here's more snow and for fun lets have some gusting wind warnings and freeze everything up, driving will be an adventure!
Thursday: hahaha you'll never know, but probably not good
Here is a photo of a place I found last year and stopped again on my way to Oyen on the weekend.

Have a good day everyone!
On a happy note, some lovely flowers just got delivered to the office. Yes, for me.
Awww...flowers! Happy Valentine's Day Jenn! :))
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely house on the hill, I love it, winter or summer! :) Our weather is wacky too. Right now it's plus 5 with rain on the way tomorrow!
Thanks Rain, you too! The flowers were a surprise, he's been away for almost 6 weeks working. I am looking forward to Spring!!
DeleteThat top pic is wonderful! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks RedPat! I am happy with how it turned out.
DeleteFlowers at the office, you lucky girl! A good Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra, it was a nice surprise! Sure brightens up my desk!
DeleteLovely photos Jenn. That winter version seems like it is situated at the edge of the world, I love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and enjoy your flowers.
Thanks Bill! I feels like that out there, homesteads seem to be few and far between.
DeleteA lovely but very lonely little house! Makes for a sad sight in the snow but a wonderful photo op!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day- lucky you got flowers ! Enjoy!
Thanks Christine! I would love to see that house a bit closer.
DeleteWhat a striking contrast!
ReplyDeleteThanks William, I will have to go back and get a summer photo now!
DeleteLOVE that top photo, Jenn!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie, I think it is one of my favourites,
DeleteI always liked doing valentines in school. School was pretty strict, everyone had to bring them and they had to give one to every kid in class.
ReplyDeleteHi Adam, I did too. I think that is the general unspoken rule still. Some moms went all out and gave treats and goodies...I was not one of those moms lol!
DeleteI like your two contrasting photos. One good thing about your weather is that it is moving east. Yesterday it turned mild. It was a good feeling to see the snow melting.
ReplyDeleteHI Andy, yes the 1 warm day definitely melted some of the snow...back to windy and cold and -22 today!
DeleteI definitely like the bottom picture better! I am NOT a fan of snow and cold. Your weather sounds miserable; I can't imagine driving in that. I hope it warms up soon!
ReplyDeleteHI Danielle, it is miserable lol! Luckily winter in parts of Alberta is broken up by the occasional chinook, which bring warm winds from mountains.
DeleteI'm sitting here shaking my head in shock Jenn, how is that even possible -36C! I can't even begin to imagine it, but what makes it even harder is that it was 35C here a couple of days ago, crazy! This little house looks totally gorgeous in both shots. Keep warm, I wish I could send you some sunshine ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks PDP! I wish you could send some heat lol! +35 is pretty hot but I could live with it.
