New Year, New Barns!

Just barns! Barns that I have come across in the last couple of months and all of them not too far from home.

Normally barns with 'new' metal roofs don't interest me as much as an original barn but the contrast of the green roof and red barn is too pretty to ignore!

This old barn must have been part of an old homestead at some point but it now right on the outskirts of a town.

Slowly sagging.

Another green roof and red barn!

My fave kind of barn...the gothic arch roof!

Green or black roof?

Swoooon! What a beaut!

Is this even a barn?

  1. ...Jenn, I agree with you about new barns, but most farmers would prefer the first one! Your second barn is a beauty and what a great sky. Of course the last one is a barn, but it's a style is different from most in this area. Perhaps it's a chicken house! Thanks so much for joining in this week, I hope that you find some barns in your neck of the woods.

  4. Wonder if the dormers on that last one were on the leeward side?

    1. Hi Gorges, not sure! I don't think I looked at the other side.

  5. That last one is very unique, with its high little dormer windows. Could it have been an early intensive farming building, like a chicken laying battery or something?

Re your questions about the path behind the wall. It is part of the property so its private.

    1. Thanks Bill! Someone else said to me that it looks like something fell from the sky and landed on it and now I can't help but see that!
