I have fond memories of Auburndale Community events. I went to the Auburndale Church as a child, was baptized there and sang in the choir. There was also a general store between the church and hall that was a major part of the community. I remember my Dad going to buy hardware there like fence staples, etc. We lived 4 miles from the hall.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08843204847519218138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312830679861476862.post-17678751074771127342017-07-11T21:56:58.386-07:002017-07-11T21:56:58.386-07:00Thank you for this post. My parents & many relatives are burried in the cemetery. Many community picnics at the hall. My 2nd marriage was in the church. A lifetime of memories. A very special place ... This Auburndale building was never the Battleview School. I attended Battleview School as a child in the early 50's and it was located several miles away from Auburndale. Once consolidation of Battleview, Triangle, Basswood and Wildmare Schools took place in the mid 50's at a central location the new school was called Preston. The Battleview School building was then moved to asite adjacent to Preston Central, joined with another old school to become Preston Community Centre.David Alexandetnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312830679861476862.post-56991362000053447152017-07-11T13:19:27.903-07:002017-07-11T13:19:27.903-07:00That is great! Their original homestead was just south of the current church/cemetery. The home still stands tho has been modified from original. They and my paternal grandparents, many aunts and uncles and 2 siblings are buried in the cemetery.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312830679861476862.post-32049332974735837852017-07-11T09:50:10.760-07:002017-07-11T09:50:10.760-07:00Hi Susan, I am so glad when my posts reach someone...Hi Susan, I am so glad when my posts reach someone with a connection to the area.
